Organize free lunch and learn events in Calgary multiple times a year. Great place to network with geomodelers. Join their mailing list.
2018 GeoConvention
Annual O&G conference in Calgary with a focus on geosciences. Exhibit floor and Technical conference. One technical session is often focused on geomodeling.
2018 Gussow Conference
Yearly conference organized in Banff (125km East of Calgary). The 2018 edition is focused on geomodeling. It will be the 3rd edition on this theme since 2011. The Memoir 20 of the CSPG collect some papers from the 2011 Closing the Gap edition.
GMDK is a sponsor of the 2018 edition.
Center for Computational Geostatistics (CCG)
Center of excellence for everything related to geostatistics in the O&G and the mining industries. The website contains a lot of free information on geostatistics.
Resources for Future Generations (RFG) 2018
Yearly conference organized this year in Vancouver. A pre-conference course on regional 3D geological mapping is proposed. It might prove interesting as it focuses on the specific problems encountered by large regional 3D mapping programs. The conference will also have a session on the topic.
Alberta Geological Survey (AGS)
A program from AGS called “3D Geological Framework” aims in developing a 3D geological framework of Alberta’s subsurface geology including both Quaternary and bedrock geological units.
